The Eczema & Allergy Mom is a resource for anyone with eczema, allergies and/or asthma.  It is run by ‘atopic parenting’ expert Goldie Putrym.

Having completed two masters degrees (she happens to be both a rocket scientist and journalist by training) from some of the world’s top universities, read a library-worth of parenting books, and had plenty of hands-on experience raising her three younger siblings, Goldie naively thought she was all set for motherhood. But when her baby girl came along, she had severe eczema from a few weeks old and her first anaphylactic reaction at just seven months.

Goldie immediately set about studying the diseases in the atopic triad in an effort to help her child and rediscovered her love of medicine, engineering and the intersection of the two. She is passionate about solving the atopic puzzle and plans to do a doctorate in biomedical engineering once her little one is in school.

In the meantime, she continues to study about eczema, allergies, and asthma (Goldie has all three herself) and tries to help as many people as she can to learn about the diseases through workshops, articles and her blog on this site.

Goldie also contributes to the Eczema Society of Canada and the Canadian Skin Patient Alliance.
